Dear Prof. Susan Garreis
Hello
Thank you for your reply and your corrections.

Her hand is much better. She is back to work. She wears a light bandage until the stitches come out. Thank you for asking.
-> I am glad to hear this.

How wonderful that you still get the red envelopes!
-> Thank you.

Customs are different in different places.
For example, it is not only children who receive the red envelopes from elders, but also elders who receive the red envelopes from children.
It is lucky.
> I agree. It is very lucky.

Compared to Vietnam, yes. But it is mild for us now. This is the best time of year. The cold comes in December, January, February and sometimes March.
-> The cold in Japan comes in December, January, February, too.
At the time of the winter, I do not want to go out at all.
> I can imagine! You must be freezing all the time in the winter. But are you cooler in the summer? It is probably not as hot for you in the summer as it is for most people.

Yes, it is wonderful and most enjoyable.
-> I think I can not sleep if the light of the moon shines on my face.
> I have no trouble sleeping in moonlight. But sunlight wakes me up in the morning.

Great! Schools here in the US do not usually organize overnight trips for the students. If they do, the students stay overnight in a hotel. I hope you had great experiences on your school trips.
-> Thank you.

I had very enjoyable camping trips.
It is election time in the US.
People eighteen or older can register to vote.
Every two years we have elections. .
Election day is the Tuesday after the first Monday in November.
Some states let people vote for several days before that.
It is called "early voting." Maryland has early voting. I voted already.
-> Thank you for your information.

Here is a link on election day:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Election_Day_(United_States)
-> Thank you for your link.

When can you vote in national or local elections in Vietnam?
-> It is the same as America: people eighteen or older can register to vote.

How often are elections held in Vietnam?
-> In Vietnam, every 5 years we have elections.

Last week, on Saturday and Sunday, there was a festival at my school.
Friday is the day to prepare, so I did not go to school.
I went to the festival on Saturday.
It was a rainy day. The foods were delicious and cheap. It was a nice day.
> The campus festival is a very nice event. I am glad you found good food, especially for a low price. What was your favorite festival food?
Did you have to work in a booth? What was your favorite part of the festival?

With best wishes
Nguyen Hung Thien
